The project “Fair and ecologically cultivated and marketed olive oil from southern Spain” of the of the Bochum University of Applied Sciences in Germany aims to create awareness for the effects of industrial food production using the example of olive oil from Andalusia. The project cooperates amongst others with the University Córdoba, the ecovillage Los Portales and two farmers from Andalusia José Cárdenas and Pedro Gonzales. Following the SDG 12 “Responsible consumption and production”, the project likes to create awareness to the advantages of fair and ecologically cultivated olive oil and organic farming among consumers and tries to support producers with a sustainable cultivation by creating Producer-Consumer-Groups. The project group meets every week, organizes tastings and is currently planning a Summer School in Córdoba.
